L.A. Frank's on a Friday

I had a lovely lunch on a Friday afternoon (today) with my wonderful husband. It is my last day in the Cambridge office and I'm sad to leave. The people are wonderful and the office location is so pretty. L.A. Frank's is a walk-up fries and hot dog structure that's reasonably priced and is packed on a warm and sunny day such as today. We lounged under the umbrellas while "Red Red Wine" played in the background and watched beautiful colored birds frolick in the river.
Here are some images of this area:

April 30th! Hooray!

Today is the busiest day of the year for all Accounting firms. The long hours and hectic pressure end as soon as May 1st rolls around. We are celebrating with a party tonight, and casual day in the office. So, because it's Friday, because it's April 30th and because I just feel like it, here are some denim related images to start your weekend off!

Traffic

I once heard a comedian say something that makes me laugh, every single time some clown cuts me off in traffic. Why is it, that we all say the same thing?

Is it just me or if someone swerves into your lane, runs a red light or flat out cuts you off, you shout out: "Hello????!!!!!!"

Ha Ha Ha! It's true, trust me.

Next time it happens to you, think of me when you shout out the above mentioned.

P.S. "Hi" to you too and have a wonderful Thursday.

The girls in my circle

I don't normally read or believe in those mass emails but I received one today and I loved it.

THE GIRLS IN MY CIRCLE

When I was little, I used to believe in the concept of one best friend.

And then I started to become a woman.

And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up, God would show you the best in many friends.

One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man. Another friend is needed when you're going through things with your mom. Another will sit beside you in the bleachers as you delight in your children and their activities. Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be. One friend will say, 'Let's cry together,'Another , 'Let's fight together,' Another , 'Let's walk away together.'

One friend will meet your spiritual need, Another your shoe fetish, Another your love for movies, Another will be with you in your season of confusion, Another will be your clarifier, Another the wind beneath your wings.

But whatever their assignment in your life,On whatever the occasion, On whatever the day, Or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym shoes on and hair pulled back, Or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself . Those are your best friends.

It may all be wrapped up in one woman, But for many, it's wrapped up in several.. One from 7th grade, One from high school, Several from the college years, A couple from old jobs, On some days your mother, On some days your neighbor, On others, your sisters, And on some days, your daughters.
So whether they've been a friend for 20 minutes or 20+ years, AND ONLY IF YOU'D LIKE TO, pass this on to the women that God has placed in your life.

A Bridget Jones Moment

Do you too suffer from the occasional foot in mouth disease?

Today, I did such a thing.

You know how in the movie Bridget Jones, you just cringe from the awkward things she says and does and can't help but giggle (yet secretly are glad it's not you!)

I am working in a different office this week than usual. I must add, the view from the office is spectacular. The sun is glistening off the Grand River and sitting on the 6th floor with the city of Cambridge in view is stunning.

Anyhow, I went to the restroom and I said to the man in front of me with a buzz cut and stocky build..."Excuse me, this is the ladies room." She turns around and looks herself up and down, looks back at the sign on the door and said, "Yeah? And? The last time I checked, I was a woman." I muttered under my breath a "sorry" and just wanted to die.

Then I quickly ran back inside to verify that it wasn't a Partner's wife who was bringing lunch in for the staff today during busy tax season. Thank God it was not.

Bridget Jones move: Not diverted, but could have been worse.

It could always be worse. Right?
