For the eyes. For the heart. For the ears. For the feet. For the soul.

I hate halloween.....

....it represents everything I loathe: scary, orange, death, pumpkins & clowns. So today, I dressed up
as a lady. Who says you can't feel sexy at 35.

Be safe.

Dreams

The truth is ever-present in my dreams.

Hold me now.

You say I'm a dreamer, we're two of a kind
Both of us searching for some perfect world we know we'll never find
So perhaps I should leave here, yeah yeah go far away
But you know that theres no where that I'd rather be than with you here
today

God Bless Isabella

I photographed a beautiful baby girl's baptism on the weekend. Here were some of my favourite photos, minus the big european party we had afterwards with loads of food, fun, drinks and laughs.

I love my job.

Wendy Alana Photography and Keller Williams Golden Triangle Realty

Kerry contacted me at the beginning of the summer and asked if I could photograph her and her spouse
for their real estate brochure. I asked how she had heard of me and she said her husband found me online. My website was fairly new at that time so I was delighted that the good old world wide web worked her wonders for Wendy Alana Photography (that's a mouthful). Also, by default, I was the only photographer out of several that bothered to call these two back.

Duh, isn't that just best business practices?

Kerry and Rick are quite the pair. They are quirky, fun and know their stuff about real estate.
He does a lot of his business up north in cottage country and she is a funky city chick. Together, they make a fabulous team. In true female fashion, Kerry contacted me this week and asked if I could quickly book them in for some new shots. She much preferred her recent change in hair color and of course, being a woman, I understood!

I am available for hire for headshots, marketing material or even Christmas cards,  either in my home studio,  the great outdoors or I can come to you with my portable studio and lighting. Feel free to contact me at wendyalana@yahoo.ca if interested.

Stay marvelous!

Two barns, two brides: One vintage, one cowgirl.

I shot two amazing engagement sessions this weekend; both similar in theme but different in taste. I thank both of these brides for contacting me. Their faith in my work inspires me to keep going. 2012 is going to be an amazing year. Special thanks to Matt Miller's family for inviting Michael and I to spend the day with them at their gorgeous Orillia century farmhouse. Their home was situated on a sprawling acreage and after our shoot, we were welcomed into their home for some delicious food and wine.

Lesley contacted me through email after a recommendation from a venue that I second shot at. We had never met and after our 3 hour drive yesterday morning, we were greeted with warm smiles and carte blanche for creativity. This couple was stunningly beautiful and great looking to boot. That's right, their inner beauty paralleled the exterior. The love that a photographer witnesses as we quietly do our dance and try our best to remain unnoticed is something that makes me absolutely grateful for this job.  Their love is evident; their hearts on the same lovely page. What an absolutely amazing day.

I have had the absolute privilege of working with so many amazing couples. I also have to thank my cousin Lindsay who has grown into the most beautiful woman. I remember her as a little girl and before she was even engaged she stopped me at Chapters where I was meeting my very first clients and she exclaimed that when she does get engaged, I'm the one she wanted to capture the day. Low and behold, that day came, and she said yes. Thanks Brigitte for arranging for us to use your sister in law's beautiful property.  Sometimes it takes multiple hands to orchestrate the logistics of an out of studio photo shoot.
Those hands are so appreciated.

Here are some photos from Matthew & Lesley's shoot yesterday as well as Lindsay & Andrew's on Saturday.

Much love,

Wendy
