For the eyes. For the heart. For the ears. For the feet. For the soul.

Legwarmers: Not just for 20 Minute Workout!

I'm aging myself when I blog about a television show that I used to watch and dance along to when I was around 8 years old. Thinking back, I was probably far too young to be both exercising and watching what seems now like a soft core version of aerobic porn! Anyways, I absolutely loved their 80's style and would go to school mimicking the outfits with my legwarmers.

25 years later, here they are, still showing up in both fashion and dance industry alike. Dancers claim they really do sport them to keep their legs warm and to prevent their muscles from cramping up, but I still love them over heels, a cute skirt or peeking out of the tops of fur boots.

A blast from the past for sure!

Soulmates, even before we met.

My boyfriend to be, who now also happens to be my husband, wrote a poem for me before we even met face to face for the first time. Michael truly pierced my soul with his beautiful words and on our engagement, presented me with a bound book of everything he's ever written for me. Here was his first to me, and for the first time in my life, I knew I was about to meet what I used to believe was a cliche of a word, but now is my reality: soulmates. The photo above was taken in Tulum, Mexico which was where we flew to get married. We were in the middle of a fun photo session popularly named "Trash the Dress" where the bride wrecks her wedding dress after her wedding, symbolizing a cathartic freedom from all the pressures of planning a wedding, when we met two older Mexican gentleman, who offered Michael and I a bible and blessed our marriage. It was one of the most special moments in my life and I knew someone was looking out for us when we met, on our wedding day and in our lives.

Listening to jazz--
punctuated by falling rain
as it hits each window pane--
my mind wanders in and out of you,
curious, yet
cautious.

I make excuses
why you're not quite right for me
when really
I've no right to say--
but every one before you
has ended in just
me,
so why should now be
any different?

Not that I'm looking for a
we--
not just yet, but
maybe
someday
when my heart finally decides
to fall for this mysterious woman
in the unwritten pages of my future,
when I'm no longer a fool for trying
because I don't have to try
I just have to be
me--
and then I'll be here
and one
with you
and we'll make love
listening to jazz
punctuated by the falling rain
as it hits each window pane--
and we'll laugh at how incomplete
the music was before us
and we'll weep at the beautiful harmony
we create--
You and me.

SJP & Chanel: Trend alert - Textured and colored tights

I'm saving my post on my favourite fictional muse Carrie Bradshaw for after the viewing of 2010's most anticipated sequel (from any female's perspective who has lived in a big metropolis, lived through an excruciatingly painful breakup or just plain loves her girlfriends, hitting the night on the town or has an appreciation for exquisitely beautiful garments....) That's right, I'm talking about Sex and the City part 2.

To get you excited, here is the link to the new movie:

I'm really writing about Sarah Jessica Parker and the Chanel stockings she has been sporting. I love them and the textured tights and leggings you see this season.

Enjoy!

Linda Evangelista = Definition of beautiful

A native of St. Catharine's Ontario and once told she was too awkward and strange looking to model, she is famous for "not getting out of bed for less than $10,000 a day".

I love her chameleon-like sense of personal style and beauty. She is by far my favourite model ever.

Some of my favourite photos:
